A spectacular Autumn dessert to enrich your body, mind and soul.
Ingredients
- 4 ripe pears
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup red wine
- 1/2 cup raw honey
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 1 cup pitted dates
- 1/2 cup pitted prunes
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
- 1 pinch of Himalayan pink salt
- 1 drop of nutmeg essential oil
- 1 teaspoon of nutmeg powder
- 2 tsp organic flaxseed oil
Method
- Preheat oven to 180 C.
- Remove cores from pears (a corer or use a sharp knife)
- In a bowl combine the dates, prunes, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg oil, pecans, salt, red wine and boiling water - mix until you get a sticky syrupy mixture which smells amazing :)
- Using a teaspoon, stuff the pears with the sticky mixture, any excess mixture pour on top of the pears ready to roast (on baking paper, for easy clean)
- Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes or until perfectly tender but not mushy
- Remove from the oven and baste with the pan juices
- Serve each pear with a dollop of yoghurt or coconut yoghurt (we used sheep's yoghurt)
- We sweetened our sheep's yoghurt with a little maple syrup :)
