Cacao caramel slice

Cacao caramel slice (aka) a VERY nice twist on an old fave! Eating raw cacao lifts your vibration, promoting feelings of connection & wellbeing.

Ingredients

Caramel

  • ½ cup tahini
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • Large pinch pink salt

Chocolate topping

  • 3-4 T raw cacao
  • 1 T carob powder
  • 3-4 T coconut sugar or maple syrup
  • ½ cup coconut oil

Base

  • 1/2 cup medjool dates or dried dates soaked in enough hot water to cover
  • 1 1/2 cups LSA (ground linseeds, sunflower seeds and almonds)
  • 1 tsp vanilla paste

Method

  1. Grind dates and LSA in blender. Add vanilla until sticky and then press into rectangular dish greased in coconut oil or lined with baking paper.
  2. Blend caramel ingredients together and pour over biscuit base and set in the freezer for 20 minutes.
  3. While slice is setting, melt coconut oil for chocolate crunch topping and then add all other ingredients and stir well.
  4. Let cool for 5 minutes and then pour topping over slice and place back in freezer to set again. Cut into small squares to serve.
