This seductive and healing Winter treat is exactly what you may require this time of year when you want a healthy mid morning or afternoon pick-me-up or a tasty flu shot because your feeling less than average? Heal your body with an array of medicinal superfoods including ginger, turmeric, cayenne, goji's and honey. These incredible foods have a synergy and are what alternative medicine practitioners rave about due to their antioxidants, anti-nausea, anti-fungal, anti cold and flu, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory properties. This raw chocolate treat is full of warmth and really has very special powers..... xox :)
Ingredients
- 1 cup of cold pressed virgin coconut oil (bought to liquid)
- 6 Tablespoons of raw cacao powder or good quality cocoa or carob
- 1 cup of dried goji berries or raisins or dried blueberries etc
- 3 tablespoon of finely grated fresh root ginger (or to taste)
- 2 Tablespoons of raw honey or to taste (you may like to warm this with the coconut oil)
- 3 Tablesppons of fresh turmeric juiced (or 2 teaspoons of dried powder)
- Pinch of cayenne pepper
- Pinch of Himalayan pink salt
Method
- Place all ingredients into a mixing bowl and stir well to combine. Pour into a suitable tray, baking dish or plate lined with baking paper. Allow to set in the freezer or fridge. Once set place on a chopping board and cut into bite size pieces and into a jar where they will live happily in the fridge - but I bet they wont last long :)
