Healing, home-made fruit snacks. Great boost for the whole family and the kiddies love these!
Ingredients
- 1 ¼ cup kombucha (we used ginger flavoured kombucha, berry would be great here too), or you could use juice - divided in half
- 1 cup fresh berries (in season now)
- 1 medium beet, peeled and grated
- 2 Tbsp raw honey
- 6 Tbsp grass fed gelatin.
Method
- Puree 1/2 cup of the kombucha, the berries and the beet in a high speed blender.
- Mix 1/2 cup of the kombucha with the gelatin, stirring to combine. In a small saucepan, heat 1/4 cup of the kombucha over LOW heat until it is just warm to the touch. You only want to heat this warm enough to dissolve the gelatin. Any warmer and you will kill all the good bugs in the kombucha.
- Pour the warm kombucha over the cold kombucha and gelatin mixture and stir in the honey until fully incorporated - taste for sweetness. Add the pureed fruit mixture and grated beet (or you can sieve out seeds/lumps etc so it is clear and beautifully pink) to the kombucha and gelatin mixture and stir to combine.
- Pour the fruit snacks mixture Into silicon moulds for cute designs. Place the gummies into the fridge for about 30 minutes to set. Enjoy these healthy and delicious snacks.
