  • Cooking time:None
  • Recipe serves:6-8 ice blocks

The must try inflammatory fighting elixir!! Fabulous anytime of day but especially delish at the end of your evening meal. Its immune-boosting ancient "golden milk" that has been used for thousands of years by many cultures for its potent anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, we have just turned it into a soothing ice-block, which gets its creamy texture from frozen banana and almond milk! How ever, you could easily adapt this and make it free of banana and use coconut cream...up to you :)

We love it especially this time of year when coughs and colds and winter blues are creeping in. Bring some spicy sunshine into your home with the "golden goddess" (aka) healing turmeric root packed with gorgeous antibacterial and antimicrobial properties for avoiding illness and keeping your immune systems strong. Traditional Ayurvedic medicine combine spices such as clove, cinnamon, ginger and peppercorn for assisting respiratory problems like asthma, coughs, colds, sore throat and congestion. A classic and boldly spiced turmeric milk with a hint of sweetness from gorgeous raw honey, sharpness from lemon makes these creamy ice-blocks very special indeed. Enjoy friends xoxo

Ingredients

  • 3 medium frozen bananas (traded fairly is always best)
  • 350 mils of home-made unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 Tablespoon of turmeric juice - fresh is best (or 1 teaspoon of dried powder)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 clove, bashed to a fine powder
  • 1 teaspoon raw honey - to taste
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • 1 inch piece of fresh, peeled ginger root juiced (or 1/2 tsp ginger powder)
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper - to taste
  • Finely grated zest of a lemon and its juice - to taste
  • Pinch of Himalayan pink salt (optional)

Method

  1. Blend all ingredients in a food processor or high speed blender until smooth.
  2. Taste as you go to get a balance that suits you and your family.
  3. Pour into ice-block molds and place into the freezer.
  4. After about an hour or so you can insert your ice-block sticks or in this case I didn't have any, so used clean grape vine twigs :) Enjoy
